Environment

DR.WU recognizes that while pursuing business growth, it also bears responsibility for environmental sustainability. Although the Company’s operations are primarily office-based and do not belong to high energy-consuming industries, resulting in relatively limited direct environmental impact, DR.WU nevertheless maintains a prudent and responsible approach by continuously reviewing the environmental impacts of its operating activities and implementing concrete actions to promote energy conservation and carbon reduction.

The Company has established policies for energy conservation and carbon reduction, identifying climate change response and resource sustainability as key management priorities. Through effective control of electricity and water usage, gradual improvement of energy-saving facilities, and enhancement of employees’ awareness of energy conservation, DR.WU promotes low-carbon operations and environmentally friendly practices. These measures cover the management of electricity, air conditioning, lighting, and water usage in office premises, as well as the implementation of equipment maintenance, improvements in energy efficiency, and daily energy-saving practices to reduce energy consumption and resource use.

In addition, DR.WU continues to promote greenhouse gas inventory, waste reduction, and resource recycling. Through process digitalization and paperless operations, the Company reduces unnecessary resource consumption. Beyond management systems, DR.WU also emphasizes employee participation by integrating environmental protection and energy-saving concepts into daily work and life through ongoing communication and training, thereby fostering collective engagement in sustainable actions.

Through systematic management and continuous improvement, DR.WU aims to gradually reduce its environmental impact while balancing operational development, steadily moving toward the goals of environmental friendliness and sustainable business operations.

Greenhouse Gas Management

Since 2024, DR.WU has conducted greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories for Scope 1 and Scope 2 in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol), accurately capturing the Company’s carbon emission data. The year 2024 has been designated as the baseline year for setting greenhouse gas reduction targets.

As the Company's operations are mainly office-based with no manufacturing activities, there are no energy emissions from production processes. Energy consumption primarily consists of purchased electricity. Total greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 60.9778 tCO2e, and greenhouse gas emission intensity per NT$1 million of revenue was 0.0491. Looking ahead, DR.WU will continue to enhance organizational resilience to transition and physical risks, and advance its commitment to sustainable development and net-zero goals.

To effectively manage carbon emissions, the Company has established internal inventory and tracking mechanisms. As the Company does not own any production facilities, the scope of the greenhouse gas inventory focuses on office premises, with 2024 designated as the baseline year for carbon emissions. Based on this baseline, annual reduction targets have been set.

Through continuous employee education and awareness initiatives, the Company promotes various energy-saving and carbon-reduction measures, including turning off lights when not in use, recycling waste paper, implementing paperless policies, setting appropriate air-conditioning temperatures, and installing timer controls. These measures aim to reduce the Company’s operational impact on climate change. The Company targets a 1% annual reduction in greenhouse gas emission intensity compared to the baseline year, with a cumulative reduction of 6% by 2030.

Water Resource Management

To promote the efficient use of water resources, the Company continues to implement various water conservation measures, such as installing flow restrictors on faucets to reduce water output. DR.WU also strengthens water resource management to improve water use efficiency. Total water consumption in 2023 and 2024 was 979 cubic meters and 957 cubic meters, respectively, representing a 2.2% reduction compared to 2023. The Company’s goal is to reduce annual water consumption by 1% year over year and to continue optimizing management practices to further enhance water use efficiency.

Waste Management

DR.WU places great importance on minimizing environmental impacts arising from its operations and regards waste reduction and resource recycling as key elements of environmental protection. Although the Company’s operations are primarily office-based and generate mostly non-hazardous waste, DR.WU adheres to principles of prudent management and continuous improvement. Through systematic management processes and concrete measures, the Company reduces the environmental burden of waste generation. At the same time, by implementing waste separation and encouraging employee participation, DR.WU enhances resource efficiency and moves toward environmentally friendly and sustainable operations.

To strengthen waste management and resource recycling, the Company has implemented the following measures:

Waste Classification and Recycling Facilities

Classified waste bins are installed in office areas to separate general waste, food waste, waste paper, and recyclable containers, enhancing employee awareness and effectiveness in waste separation and recycling.

Centralized Battery Recycling

The Administration Department sets up dedicated battery recycling boxes to collect used dry batteries and rechargeable batteries generated by various departments. Once a sufficient quantity is accumulated, the batteries are handled collectively by the building management committee.

Management and Recycling of Large Equipment

Large office equipment such as computers and printers are periodically reviewed for usage conditions. Equipment that is no longer usable is arranged for recycling and reuse to extend resource life cycles.

Destruction and Recycling of Confidential Documents

The Company reviews the retention periods of paper documents every two years. Expired confidential documents are entrusted to certified environmental service providers for water pulping and recycling into regenerated resources. Approximately 885 kilograms of paper were destroyed in 2024.

Professional Disposal of Scrapped Products

Expired, damaged, or non-conforming skincare products are sorted and disposed of according to material types (such as plastic and glass) for recycling to reduce environmental impact. Recyclable materials are collected and processed by qualified vendors to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

In 2023 and 2024, the Company generated 3,520 kilograms and 4,360 kilograms of non-hazardous waste, respectively. All waste was properly classified and handled by licensed recycling operators in accordance with regulatory requirements.
